Someone has overdosed
- Call 911. Say “someone is not breathing.”
- Give naloxone (Narcan) if you have it. One spray in one nostril.
- Lay them on their side. If you know rescue breathing, do it.
- No response after 2 to 3 minutes? Give a second dose.
- Stay until help arrives. Most states protect people who call.
You are thinking about suicide
- Call or text 988. You do not need to be sure it is an emergency.
- Move away from anything you could use to hurt yourself.
- Do not stay alone. Go to where a person is, or call one.
- If you have used or been drinking, wait. This will feel different sober.
