Pacing, not pushing

Pain makes you overdo it on good days and crash on bad ones.

Do this

  1. Find what you can do on a bad day without flaring.
  2. Do that amount every day, good or bad.
  3. Stop by the clock, not by the pain.
  4. Add about 10% each week.
  5. Track it. Progress with pain is slow and real.

Why it works

Strong feelings and urges rise, peak and fall, usually within minutes. A skill gives your body something to do while the wave passes, and each time you ride one out, the next one gets a little easier.
