What it is
MAT uses medication to steady the brain and body so the rest of recovery has a chance. For opioids: buprenorphine (Suboxone), methadone and naltrexone (Vivitrol). For alcohol: naltrexone, acamprosate and disulfiram.

What a session is like
A prescriber visit, then regular check-ins. Some medications are daily, some are a monthly shot.
